about

This track is about 19th century attitudes to death, inspired by a visit to Abney Park cemetery in London, where the founders of the Salvation Army are buried. There are many quite grand monuments there, but to me it seems a dismal and joyless place. The piano melody quotes 'Onward Christian Soldiers' and features a Palm Court Trio.
